1. Public Participation
Mr Roger Collins and Liam Jones of North Somerset Times were present.
2. Minutes of the last Parish Council Meeting
The minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on 25th January 2016 (previously circulated) were signed as a true record.

4. Ward Councillor’s Reports
Reported on meeting tomorrow of NSC Economic Development Committee – two councillors had questioned the Core Strategy paper.
RTI (real time information) on buses not working, due to problems with siting of necessary equipment in the buses.
St Katherine’s School is to become an Academy.
DD meeting Kier regarding the waste service in this village.
5. Crime & Disorder
LD – The last planned PACT meeting did not take place, as PCSO Simon Teung was not aware he had to attend. Next meeting 12th May.
Problem last weekend with youths at the play area of Crockerne School.
Incident in Church Road – large tanker heading for Siniat, got wedged against a resident’s car.
There had been some problems with anti-social behaviour in the precinct recently.
6. Clerk’s Report
Street lights at Brookside were finally repaired on 28th January.
Reported street lights not working at Friendly Row/Port View, Hardwick Road, Crockerne Drive and The Moorings.
Reported damage to Watchhouse Hill by Network Rail operatives vans. Came back last week and repaired.
Complaint received regarding cars parked on the wide pavement outside Pond Head Court. NSC Community Warden visited and advised that all cars were parked where they were entitled to.
No reply yet received from Veronica Simmons (Lodway zebra crossing). She has two days left to comply, and then the PC can arrange for the vegetation to be cut back around the lights.
Reported potholes at Cross Lanes, junction of Cross Lanes and Westward Drive, Stoneyfields, The Poplars and Newsome Avenue. Reported damaged pavement surface between Church Road and St George’s Church Hall.
Lots of fly tipping this month – Park Walk, Baltic Place and regularly Recycling Facility. The large bins for the use of Baltic Place residents are a major problem, and a potential health hazard. The Clerk had asked for a meeting with Becky Dugdale of Alliance Homes.
Due to obvious danger of no footpath, the Clerk had requested NSC to litter pick the length of St George’s Hill.
Received notice that St George’s Hill will be closed on the 5th April 2016 between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Clerk to arrange meeting with John Chaplin of BPC, to discuss the plans for vehicle storage at Court House Farm. Suggest Monday 7th March, 4pm. Action Clerk.
SB reported that the fence at the rear of 9 Priory Road had now fallen down, obstructing the footpath. Action Clerk.

Neighbourhood Plan – ALPC agreed to join Pill & EIG to produce a Neighbourhood Plan. AJ recommended delegating the Planning Committee the power to act on the designation of the area to be covered (in consultation with ALPC regarding its part of the area). Following that, draw up the supporting document for NSC to consider. Agenda 14th March.
Wessex Community Land Trust – need to organise a public meeting. Ask WCLT to come along to the Annual Parish Council to talk to parishioners about this. Action Clerk.

AT – nothing really to report from the BPC.

11. Application for Disabled Parking Bay – 2 Mariner’s Way
Following consideration, the Clerk was requested to OBJECT to this application, on the grounds that it would impede access to Alliance Homes garages.
12. EIG & Pill Allotments Association Lease
Two members of the Allotment Association had visited the Clerk to remind her that the lease was out of date. On checking this, the Clerk found that it did not need to be renewed until 2019.
13. MetroWest Update
This would be discussed at the next PC meeting, following the upcoming consultation event at the Resource Centre, on Friday 4th March, 12.00 – 7.00pm.
